Sora 2 vs. Sora 2 Pro
OpenAI offers two versions of the updated model: 
  • Sora 2 (Standard): Tuned for speed and everyday creation, this version is available to invited users for free with “generous limits”.
  • Sora 2 Pro: This higher-quality version is for more demanding, production-quality output. It is available to existing ChatGPT Pro subscribers at no extra cost and takes longer to render.

The release of Sora 2 raises several ethical concerns, particularly regarding deepfakes and misinformation. 
  • Red team testing: OpenAI used internal “red teamers” to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Origin tracking: All Sora videos include a visible moving watermark and embedded C2PA metadata, a tamper-proof signature that indicates the video’s AI origin.
